KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Josephine Owino of Union (Tenn.) has been selected as the NAIA Women's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008.

Owino, a junior center from Mombasa, Kenya, averaged 21.0 points and 9.7 rebounds in three wins for the Lady Bulldogs.  She shot 66 percent from the floor and recorded two double-doubles.  Owino recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds against Cumberland and 20 points and 10 rebounds against Martin Methodist.  She also had 24 points and nine rebounds against No. 14 Lambuth.
