Lady Coyotes Advance Past Eagles



Kansas Wesleyan's game-winning goal was scored by Eliana Parada in the 42nd minute.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The #13 Kansas Wesleyan Lady Coyotes defeated the #20 Embry-Riddle Eagles by a score of 2-0 in the opening round of the 2007 NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament. 

Kansas Wesleyan (21-1-1) was able to convert on two shots on goal in the final five minutes of the first half.

The game-winning goal was scored by Eliana Parada in the 42nd minute. Parada took the ball from just beyond midfield, created a one-versus-one situation with the ERAU keeper and knocked the ball in to the left.  

Janna Macy scored the second Kansas Wesleyan goal off of a pass from Angela Padilla in the 43rd minute.

Kelli Beatty had a game-leading seven saves for the Lady Coyotes.

Kansas Wesleyan will face #4 Concorida (Ore.)(17-2-1) Thursday at 7 p.m.
