ANNAPOLIS, Md.-The Navy football team will go 6-6 and play Maryland in the Congressional Bowl according to Phil Steele's College Football Magazine. The Mids will play five of the top 50 teams in the country according to Steele, with Notre Dame being the highest ranked at 19th. Other top teams on Navy's schedule are Pitt (25th), Wake Forest (27th), Rutgers (35th) and Ball State (46th). Steele also says the Mids will also face four of the six most improved teams in the country in Notre Dame (first), Northern Illinois (third), Pitt (fourth) and SMU (sixth).

Senior fullback Eric Kettani was ranked as the 12th best fullback in the nation by the magazine. Kettani led the Midshipmen in rushing last year with 880 yards and 10 touchdowns on 152 carries (5.8 yards per carry). He is expected to surpass those numbers this fall with the graduation of Adam Ballard, who he split time with the last two years. Navy's running backs as a group were ranked as the 29th best backfield in the country.
