Smith compiled a team-best .412 batting average in leading the 49ers to the championship game of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Tournament. Along the way she broke the 49ers single-season record for hits with 71. Her RBI single broke open a scoreless tie and drove home the winning run in a 1-0 game one win over Saint Louis. She added an RBI single in the game two win over St. Bonaventure. In Saturday's semifinal win over Fordham she banged out two hits and she added one of the 49ers three hits in the title game loss to UMass.
