Eugene, Ore. - Two-time NCAA all-America Pat Springs (Winston-Salem, N.C.) placed 13th in the women's long jump at the 2009 USA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., Sunday. Springs, who earned all-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Indoor and 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships, jumped 5.90 meters (19-04.25).

Former Charlotte 49ers all-America Shareese Woods, representing team adidas, placed fifth in the women's 400 meter finals, Saturday night with a time of 51.05.

In other action, Darius Law placed 12th in the men's 400 meter semifinals and Aja Jackson was 16th in the women's 800 meter semifinals. Neither advanced to the finals of their events.

In junior competition, Jake Deaton placed 11th in the men's junior shot put with a distance of 17.45 meters. Kristin Mitchell placed ninth in tthe women's junior 3000 meter run with a time of 10:48.87. Joshua Foster competed in the men's junior triple jump but fouled on each attempt.
