Men's Ranking
Women's Ranking
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Charlotte cross country teams remained in their same position in the NCAA Division I Cross Country Southeast Regional Rankings released today by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women’s team remained in the 11th spot, while the men held onto their 12th place ranking.
This is the fourth ranking of the season and the men’s team has been ranked in every poll, while the women have appeared in three polls.
Ranked at the top of the Southeast Region on the men’s side is William & Mary followed by Virginia and NC State. Richmond is the only other Atlantic 10 team that is ranked in the poll as they claimed the seventh spot.
On the women’s side, Virginia is the top squad followed by Duke and NC State. Richmond is also ranked on the women’s side as the Spiders are ranked 13th in the poll.
The 49ers did not compete this weekend since they are preparing for this week’s NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., which is also the site of the 2009 NCAA Championships. The Pre-Nationals will feature multiple nationally-ranked squads from all over the nation and will give the 49ers a gage of where they stand nationally.
Charlotte has competed in three races thus far in the season; the Charlotte Invitational, the USC Upstate Eye Opener and the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite. The men’s squad finished in first, fourth and third in the meets, while the women took first, fourth and sixth place.
Both squads won the Charlotte Invitational on Oct. 2nd with Adu Dentamo claiming the men’s individual title and Amanda Goetschius taking the runner-up title for the women.
