CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A standout for the Charlotte 49ers Cross Country team, Adu Dentamo was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team yesterday. Dentamo, a senior Electrical Engineering Technology major, was one of six A-10 runners selected to the team and the sixth 49er to be selected for the honor since 2005.

A four-time A-10 All-Conference member, Dentamo finished fourth at this year’s conference championship. Last season, Dentamo became the first Charlotte men’s runner to claim an individual conference championship when he ran the 8k course in 24:01, the third fastest time at an A-10 championship.

Last season, two 49ers were named to the squad with Ryan Jank picking up his second honor (2005) and Liana Blue.

The voting was conducted by the Atlantic 10 Sports Information Directors.
