Charlotte, N.C. - Redshirt junior Dack Dunn's leadoff homerun in the bottom of the 9th gave the Green team a 5-4 victory to tie the Niner World Series at two games each at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium Sunday evening.

White jumped to an early lead with a pair of two bunt singles from Shane Brown and Justin Roland. Brown later scored on a Zane Williams sacrifice fly.

The top of the third saw White stretch its lead to 2-0 with a solo homer from catcher Zane Williams. Green quickly answered back in the bottom of the third with a leadoff triple from freshman Shane Basen, followed by a walk to junior Kevin Gillespie. Basen scored on a wild pitch and Gillespie scored after consecutive singles from Miguel Rodriguez and Dunn.

White then shut down the Green offense when freshmen Wes Hatley and John Hamilton combined for four innings of no-hit relief. White was able to push across a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings. Green then shut the door with Dylan Taylor and Aubrey Meadows combining for four innings and no earned runs, striking out four batter between them.

Green was able to force a four-all tie in the eighth after a leadoff double by Rodriguez was followed by singles from J.J. Elseser and Cory Tilton. This set the stage for Dunn's dramatic walk-off.

Game five took place on Tuesday afternoon. A recap will be posted shortly.
