Charlotte Falls at Temple, 75-61

Niners Shoot Just 31 Percent From Floor

Feb. 27, 2008

Philadelphia, Pa. - Temple jumped out to a 17-9 lead early and Charlotte was never able to shoot itself back into the game, falling at the Liacouras Center, 75-61, in Atlantic 10 action.

It was just the 49ers second double-digit loss of the season. The 49ers shot 31% for the game and 28% from three-point range. Temple, meanwhile, shot 51%, including 65% in the second half to keep the Niners at bay.

Charlotte was led by junior Lamont Mack who scored 19 points (4-of-9 3FG) and added nine rebounds. It was the fourth consecutive game that Mack has led Charlotte in scoring. Leemire Goldwire, who has led the 49ers in scoring all season, was held to a season-low three points, hitting just 1-of-9 shots and 0-for-7 three-pointers.

Charlie Coley joined Mack in double figures with 11 points.

Charlotte (15-12; 6-7) have now lost four of their last five. Temple (15-12; 8-5) led by nine at the half, 34-25, but Charlotte was only able to get as close as five in the second half, 37-32. The 49ers never led in the game.

Charlotte returns home Sunday to face Duquesne at Halton Arena at 2:00 p.m.
