CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte 49ers fans will get two opportunities this week to preview the men's and women's basketball teams prior to the 2009-10 season. Thursday night, the teams host the annual 49ers Basketball Madness at Halton Arena at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, the 49ers will unveil the family-friendly 49ers Fan Day presented by Barnes and Noble at UNC Charlotte. Basketball Madness will begin on Thursday, October 22 at 9pm, with Fan Day at 11am on Saturday, October 24. Both events will be held in Halton Arena. Admission is free and open to the public.
Madness will take on the theme NormCenter for the 2009-10 season featuring a segment with ESPN Analyst Jay Bilas. Seating in Halton Arena will begin at 8:45 pm. The first 750 fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Smoothie King. Fans will be entertained with team skits, player introductions, the three-point contest, and slam dunk contest.
49ers Fan Day completes an exciting day of on campus events, including the inaugural 4.Niner K which was organized to raise funds for need-based scholarships at UNC Charlotte. Fan Day will begin at 11am featuring a Fan Zone area which includes inflatable activities, autographs, season ticket pick-up, and more! A Barnes and Noble at UNC Charlotte kiosk will also be part of the Fan Zone for fans to get their 49ers gear prior to the start of the season. The day will include scrimmages and a free youth clinic with the 49ers men's and women's teams. To register for the clinic click here.
Season tickets for the Charlotte 49ers men's and women's basketball season are on sale now. Tickets for the fifteen game home men's schedule range from $49 to $298, including the Harris Teeter Family Zone package, featuring four tickets for only $270. The women's season ticket is available as part of the 49er Gold Card providing four fans the chance to attend all home men's soccer, women's soccer, women's volleyball, and women's basketball for only $49.

Men's basketball season tickets and 49er Gold Cards are on sale now and available by calling 704.687.4949. They may also be purchased by visiting the Athletic Ticket Office located at the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Single game tickets go on sale October 24 with walk-up purchases from 11am to 2pm and online purchases beginning at 11am. Phone orders will commence on Monday, October 26 at 8am.
