The Charlotte 49ers (9-1), winners of seven straight, stay on the road to face Old Dominion (7-4) Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. (WBCN Radio, 1660 AM - Matt Swierad) for a non-conference matchup. At 9-1, Charlotte is off to its best start under Lutz and the program's best since opening the 1991-92 season with an 11-1 mark. Charlotte has won four straight road games during the current seven-game win streak, including an impressive 22-point, 87-65 victory at #20/#18 Louisville, Dec. 5. That win helped the 49ers to receive votes in the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls.

Against Old Dominion, a team receiving votes in the preseason polls and 61-57 road winners over #11 Georgetown, the 49ers renew old ties with a former member of the Sun Belt Conference. The two played every season from 1983-91 and have met 26 times. Of teams on the 2009-10 schedule, Charlotte has only played Louisville (32 times, 16-16 record) more often. Last year, ODU hit 50% from three-point range to score a 69-68 win at Halton Arena. In the 49ers last trip to Norfolk, Brendan Plavich hit a long three-pointer to give Charlotte a 105-102 double OT victory.

Charlotte (9-1 ) v. Old Dominion (7-4)
Charlotte faces an Old Dominion team that is 5-0 at home and just posted an impressive 61-57 road victory at #11 Georgetown. Two of Old Dominion's losses came on the road at A-10 favorites Richmond (67-60) and Dayton (58-50).
