Macon, Ga. - Rain has caused the cancellation of the third and final round at the Brickyard Collegiate, with final results reverting to the end of round two. Charlotte was tied for 10th with 15th-ranked North Florida at the end of two rounds with a 13-over par 589.

Augusta State captures the tournament title at 13-under par, 563. Chattanooga and Clemson tied for second at even-par, 576. Seven of the nine teams that finished in front of the 49ers were ranked in Golfstat's top 50. With its 10th-place finish, Charlotte did place ahead of 19th-ranked Georgia Tech (12th, +17, 593) and 18th-ranked Michigan (15th, +26, 602). "It's always disappointing when you don't get to play all three rounds of a tournament," said 49ers head coach Adam Pry. "Better teams rise to the top over the completion of three rounds and combined with the challenging conditions today, we were looking forward to finding out how good we can be."

The 49ers were led by senior Ryan Wilson, who finished tied for 28th individually at +2, 146. Sophomore Olafur Loftsson, who shot one-under par 71 in round two, tied for 35th at +3, 147. Senior Corey Nagy and freshman Andy Sajevic tied for 47th at +5, 149. "Ryan's strong play over the first two rounds is a direct result of a lot of hard work and dedication over the past couple months," Pry added."It is very rewarding to see his time and effort pay off in competition."

The 49ers, who have played in three events this fall, will next compete at the CordeValle Collegiate, Nov. 9-11, in San Martin, Calif. The tournament will wrap up the fall campaign for the 49ers.
