"We had a lot of scoring chances in the game," Charlotte coach Jeremy Gunn said. "Jennings Rex scored a couple of really good goals. It was a gritty performance by our team."

Saint Joseph's scored the game's first goal when Travis Gast's shot was deflected by Charlotte's goalkeeper David Martin. Shane Kelly then corralled the deflection and put the ball into the back of the net in the 56th minute.

Rex scored his first goal which tied the score, 1-1, when he got a loose ball that Saint Joseph's keeper Andrew D'Ottavi hit out in the 68th minute. Then, Rex put the ball into the back of the net.

The 49ers won their 11th game of the season when Luke Exley played a thru ball to Rex who buried a shot into the upper left corner of the goal in the 98th minute. Rex's two goals moved him in second place on the team with six goals.

"We fought hard today," Rex said. "We showed a lot of heart in coming back and winning this game."
