Senior midfielder Adam Gross of the Charlotte 49ers nationally-ranked men's soccer program was just named first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III. Last year, Gross earned third-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American honors. As a result of being named first-team academic all-district, Gross will represent the district on a national ballot for Academic All-America honors.

Gross has a 3.66 GPA in Business Management.

This season, Gross as team captain has played a major role in helping the 49ers become a consensus Top 20 team and register a 13-game unbeaten streak. Gross ranks among the A-10 leaders with a team-leading seven goals, six assists and 20 points. He has tallied a career-high three-game winning goals. He has earned A-10 Player of the Week honors twice as well as being named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week this season.

Last season, Gross earned honorable-mention All-Atlantic 10 honors as well as being named to the A-10 Academic All-Conference team.
