Athens, Ga. - The remainder of Charlotte's earlier tournament winners were eliminated from title contention on day two of the Southern Intercollegiate Invitational men's tennis tournament Saturday at the University of Georgia.
Charles Martin-Le Camp advanced to the quarterfinals of the third flight with a straight-sets win (6-1, 6-4) over Marcos Oliviera of Jacksonville, but lost in straight sets to David Lue of Duke in the quarterfinal round 6-4, 6-2.
The freshman doubles pair of Anthony Davison and Martin-Le Camp won in the morning session 9-8 over Jacksonville's Jamie Esteban and Matthew Rock. They lost in the next round to Duke's Jared Pinsky and Aaron Carpenter 8-3.
Moritz Bernhoerster, Michael Anders and Jesse Hutchinson all won in consolation matches today. Bernhoerster and Anders won in straight sets, while Hutchinson had to grind out a close one, a 7-5, 6-7 (9), 1-0 (10-5) victory over Michael Langel of Kennesaw State.
The action continues into Sunday, as Charlotte will compete in consolation draws.
