Athens, Ga. - Charlotte competed in a rain-soaked Southern Intercollegiate Tournament at the University of Georgia over the weekend. Six players traveled, but only four players got in a singles match due to weather canceling most of the scheduled consolation matches.
Charles Martin-Lecamp was the lone singles winner for Charlotte, defeating Kennesaw State's Gianni Kubin, 6-3, 6-2.
In other singles play, Moritz Bernhoerster had a lead in the first set to No. 40 Javier Garrapiz of Georgia, but fell in a first-set tiebreaker and lost in straight sets, 7-6 (10-2), 6-2.
In doubles action, Martin-Lecamp and fellow sophomore Anthony Davison took out Spikes and Adeimy of Georgia State by an 8-7 decision.
The men will take this weekend off before competing in the Davidson Invitational on October 2-3 on the other side of northern Mecklenburg County.
