Davidson, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers men's tennis team took a small group to the Davidson/Jeff Frank Invitational this past weekend and found mixed results. Five of Charlotte 11 singles matches needed a tiebreaking set.

The tournament was a round-robin format as Charlotte took on teams from Davidson, Furman and Winthrop.

"We got a lot of matches in and benefited from a lot of close action," said Niners head coach Jim Boykin.

Charles Martin-Lecamp won his three singles matches, needing a tiebreak set in two of his victories. He also teamed with Jesse Hutchinson to win both of their doubles matches by 8-3 and 7-5 margins.

Moritz Bernhoerster split a pair of matches that needed tiebreakers and lost in straight sets in his opening match of the weekend.

Michael Anders lost his three matches, one of which also needed a tiebreaking set.

Bernhoerster and Anders split their pair of doubles matches on the weekend.

The 49ers will take team members to the ITA Regionals in Chapel Hill, beginning October 16.
