Charlotte's Michael Anders Named Men's Tennis A-10 Rookie of the Week

Philadelphia, Pa. - Charlotte men's tennis freshman Michael Anders has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, officials announced today.
Anders defeated North Carolina's Andrew Crone at number-four singles 0-6, 7-6 (7), 1-0 (4) in a third super set tiebreaker. It was Charlotte's only win in their 6-1 loss at No. 10 North Carolina last Friday. Anders leads Charlotte with a 3-1 record in dual match competition. He is 6-6 overall this season.
This is the second straight week that a Charlotte freshman has been named to this honor. Last week, Moritz Bernhoerster was named for his success the previous weekend for the Niners.
Saturday, Charlotte heads to Columbia to battle South Carolina at 10 a.m. Sunday, Charlotte hosts a pair of local teams, Johnson C. Smith at 10 a.m. and Pfeiffer at 2 p.m.
