Charlotte Senior Felix Bernhoerster Named A-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Senior Teamed With Freshman Brother to go 3-0 as Doubles Pair

Feb. 12, 2008

Philadelphia, Pa. - Charlotte senior Felix Bernhoerster has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week, officials announced Monday.

Playing at number-one singles, Bernhoerster went 3-1 for the week. In doubles play, he also went 3-1, including a 3-0 week as a doubles partner with his younger brother, Moritz. It was the first time this year that the brothers were paired together, and they went undefeated, which included a 9-7 win at number-two doubles at South Carolina Saturday morning.

Charlotte, like the older Bernhoerster, went 3-1 for the week, with all four matches taking place in a three day period. He evened his dual match singles record to 3-3, all at the number-one spot in the line-up.

This is the third weekly award for Charlotte men's tennis. Moritz Bernhoerster and Michael Anders have been named A-10 Rookie of the Week already this season.

This week, Charlotte travels to High Point Tuesday at 2 p.m before hosting No. 75 College of Charleston Friday at 2:30 p.m. and heading to No. 54 Elon Saturday at 1 p.m.
