Cincinnati, OH - The Charlotte 49ers (16-11, A-10: 7-4), despite three players in double-figures led Sabrina Gregory's 19 points, lost on the road at Atlantic 10 foe Xavier (18-7, A-10: 8-2), 71-62.

"Today's game was a very competitive basketball game," Charlotte coach Karen Aston said. "Both teams played at a high level. The difference in the game was rebounding. We just did not make the one defensive stop or get the one rebound that we needed down the stretch to get over the hump and win the game."

Shannon McCallum rounded out the 49ers double-figure scorers with her ninth double-figure scoring game off the bench with 13 points.

"Sabrina Gregory played a very good game for us today," Aston said. "I am pleased that she got out of her mini offensive slump today. She was very aggressive on the offensive end of the court."
