The Charlotte Rollin' Bobcats to Play at Halftime of 49ers WNIT Basketball Game this Saturday

49ers Participate in Sixth Post-Season Tournament in Past Six Years

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte basketball fans will have the opportunity to catch two basketball games for the price of one at Halton Arena this Saturday, March 22 at noon. The Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team leads off as they make their sixth post-season appearance in the past six years when they take on Virginia Commonwealth in the first round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). At halftime of the contest watch as the Charlotte Rollin' Bobcats display their skills on the Halton Arena court. The Rollin' Bobcats Wheelchair Basketball Program was founded with the purpose of building an organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities, of all ages, participate in wheelchair basketball on a national level. Tickets are $6 for adults/$3 for youth and can be purchased by calling 704.687.4949 or visiting the Charlotte 49ers ticket office located at the Barnhardt Student Activity Center on the campus of UNC Charlotte. The 49ers (18-13), who sport a 12-3 home record this season, have made six consecutive postseason appearances, beginning with the 2001-02 season. They are led by first year head coach Karen Aston and senior 1,000 point scorer Sabrina Gregory (10.7 ppg, 119 assists), along with juniors Danielle Burgin (10.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg) and Traci Ray (9.2 ppg, 101 assists).
