Game notes for the Appalachian State game ![]()
Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team battles Southern Conference foe Appalachian State on the road, Friday, November 20 at 7 pm.
Junior Shannon McCallum leads the 49ers in scoring at 17 points per game. She scored a career-high 25 points against South Carolina, Monday. Senior Aysha Jones is second on the team in scoring at 14 points per game. She needs only to score 170 points this season to become the 17th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Senior Erin Floyd leads the 49ers in rebounding at eight boards per game. She is third on the team in scoring at 11.5 points per game. The reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week freshman Jennifer Hailey rounds out the 49ers double-figure scorers at 10.5 points per game.
This game will mark the 19th meeting between the Charlotte and Appalachian State. Charlotte has won the last four meeting and eight of the last nine meetings to lead the all-time series, 14-4. The 49ers defeated Appalachian State, 84-58, in their last meeting which came at Charlotte's Halton Arena. Former 49ers standout Pam Brown led five 49ers in double-figures with 20 points. Director of Operations Sabrina Gregory added 12 points. Assistant coach Krystion Obie Nelson scored five points in the game. Charlotte defeated Appalachian State, 65-51 in their last meeting in Boone, December 4, 2001. The 49ers have won six of the nine meetings between the two teams in Boone.
