The Charlotte 49ers women's basketball team battles ACC foe #11 Duke on the road, Monday, November 23 at 7 pm.

Senior Aysha Jones leads the 49ers in scoring at 18.3 points per game. Jones scored a season-high 27 points in the 49ers 74-57 win at Appalachian State, Monday. Jones needs to score 143 points to become the 17th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Junior Shannon McCallum is second on the 49ers in scoring at 17 points per game. She scored a career-high 25 points against South Carolina last Monday. Senior Erin Floyd is third on the team in scoring at 10.7 points per game. Senior Ashley Spriggs leads the 49ers in rebounding at 7.0 rebounds per game.

This game will mark the ninth meeting between Charlotte and Duke. Duke leads the all-time series, 5-3. Duke has won three straight in the series including a 64-39 win in their last meeting which came at Charlotte's Halton Arena, November 29, 2001. Former 49ers standout Alicia Abernathy led the 49ers with 16 points in that game. All three of Charlotte's wins in this series have come at home. Charlotte defeated Duke, 73-66, February 19, 1983, for their last victory in the series. Duke is the first of four potential ACC foes that the 49ers may play this season. Charlotte plays Clemson in Halton Arena, Monday, January 4. The 49ers may play Virginia in their second game in this week's Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas. Charlotte may face Virginia Tech in their second game of the Hilton Garden Classic at Virginia Tech, December 30.
