Cincinnati, OH - The Charlotte 49ers women's soccer team (11-2-1, A-10: 5-0-1) behind goals Danielle Mayeaux, Jonna Handra and Sam Huecker blanked Xavier, 3-0, on the road for their fifth straight shutout. With the win, the 49ers improved their unbeaten streak against A-10 foes to 22 games.

"I was pleased to finish off the weekend with two clean sheets," Charlotte coach John Cullen said. "Once again it's pleasing to see different goal scorers pop up on the stat sheet. It makes for a competitive team as well as a team who knows on any given day that we can get goals from a variety of players."

Mayeaux scored the 49ers first goal when she headed in a Hailey Beam corner kick in the 27th minute. Mayeaux's goal was her second of the season.

Handra gave the 49ers a 2-0 lead when she blasted a shot into the back of the net from 25 yards out in the 37th minute. Handra's goal was her first of the season.

Huecker concluded the game's scoring when she put a corner kick into the net in the 65th minute. Huecker's goal was her first of the season.

The 49ers finished the game with a 24-8 advantage in shots. Macky Wingo led the 49ers with six shots. Whitney Weinraub added five shots to the 49ers attack. Jenna McKeon tallied three shots for the 49ers. While Huecker, Carrie Dail and Kirby Stenard recorded two shots apiece.

All three 49ers goalkeepers, Lauren Brown, Jessica Barton and Natalie LaVigne, saw action in the 49ers fifth straight shutout and tenth shutout of the season. Brown recorded two saves in 72 minutes of action for the 49ers.

The 49ers return home for their two final regular-season home games next weekend, October 16-18. First, the 49ers face Richmond, Friday, October 16 at 7 pm. Then, the 49ers face George Washington on Senior Day, Sunday, October 18 at 1 pm.
