This week we practiced really hard. Thursday's practice was all about fighting and who wanted it more. After a tough game monday that we should have dominated we needed a good kick in the butt to get us going. We just fought and fought. Some how I ended up with a really nasty bruise on my leg which is still there and which I am questioned about daily. I still don't know how I got it, probably got cleated. Its actually kind of funny because we get most of our injuries and bruises in practice from each other.
My husband came to visit again this weekend because we were home and he had an extended weekend for Labor Day. It was great to see him for so long because he starts doing field training this week and we won't be able to talk as much. He is a bit of a goof ball though. He made a t-shirt for our game on Sunday that had a soccer ball on the front and "Buda's Husband" on the back (Buda is my nickname on the team). Needless to say he received many laughs as well as compliments.
We played Tennessee Tech on Sunday. It was a great game for us. We really took care of the details that are needed to win the ball and ultimately put it in the back of the net. We were up 4-0 at half time and came out strong in the second half where we scored three goals in the first 7 minutes. We won 8-0. We were able to play everyone in that game which was really exciting for us and was an opportunity for everyone to be rewarded for the hard work they do day in and day out.
This week we will be preparing for a tough road trip at Ohio State and Pittsburgh. Part of my preparation was getting my knee drained (I can see my knee cap again! YAY!!!!!) and getting cortizone shots. Hopefully this will make a difference in how my knees feel and how I will be able to play. As of right now I am a little bit sore but that is normal and I am looking forward to a great weekend on the road!. Thats all for now. GO NINERS!
