Hi again! This weekend we went on our first real road trip of the season against two really tough opponents, Ohio State and Pittsburgh. First was Ohio State. We left on Thursday and after a seemingly endless bus ride, I think it was around nine hours, we arrived in Columbus, Ohio. Friday night we played Ohio State. It was really exciting for us because they are a really good team and because Coach Lipsitz used to coach there. We came out really strong and went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. OSU came out and got a goal back on us in the second half and forced the game into double overtime where we wound up tied. I got to see my brother-in-law, Dan after the game which was cool. It's always exciting to have family at a game and I think that was the first time he ever saw me play.
On Saturday the team went to Megan Minnix's house in Columbus. Ohio. It was another day of great food and family. It was a time for us to just relax, eat a lot, watch some TV and prepare for the Sunday's game.
Then, we got back on the bus and headed to Pittsburgh, which is the home of our very own Jonna Handra. After sitting through traffic for a couple hours we finally arrived around 8:30 pm. Once we got to our hotel, I got to visit with my dear friend Julie Muckle who I met at Charlotte when we were both freshmen. She graduated with me this past spring and is working as a nurse at a Pittsburgh hospital. Her whole family came to our game on Sunday as well as many other family and friends. Our fans are so great! It seems that when we go on the road we have just as many fans as the home team. Sunday's game was no different. I think Jonna alone had over 20 fans there.
