Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers women's soccer junior midfielder Hailey Beam was just named to Soccer America's Team of the Week for the first time in her career for her performance in the 49ers wins against La Salle and St. Bonaventure last weekend. This week, she was also named to Soccer Buzz's National Elite Team of the Week as well as A-10 Player of the Week.
Beam scored four goals with four assists helping the 49ers began A-10 play with two victories last weekend. She scored a goal and added two assists as the 49ers began defense of their back-to-back A-10 titles with a 6-0 win over La Salle in their A-10 opener, Friday. Then, she collected the team's second hat trick of the season and the tenth in the program's history in the 49ers 8-2 road win at St. Bonaventure, Sunday. She added two assists to go along with her three goals in the St. Bonaventure game.
Beam is currently tied with Whitney Weinraub for the A-10 lead in goals with eight. Beam is second behind Weinraub for the A-10 lead in points with 22. She is also second behind Weinraub for the A-10 lead in assists with six.
Beam, Weinraub and the rest of the 49ers women's soccer team returns to action when they host A-10 foe Saint Louis at Transamerica Field, Saturday, October 4 at 7 pm.
