Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte 49ers women's soccer team (7-3-1, A-10: 3-0) puts their undefeated A-10 record on the line this weekend when they battle Temple and Saint Joseph's at Transamerica Field. The 49ers begin the weekend with a home contest against Temple (2-6-3, A-10: 0-1-2), Friday, October 10 at 7 pm. Then, Charlotte concludes the weekend at home against Saint Joseph's (7-3-1, A-10: 2-0-1), Sunday, October 12 at 1 pm. Charlotte has compiled a 20-2-1 record over the past three years against Atlantic 10 foes during the regular season.
Sophomore Whitney Weinraub and junior Hailey Beam are tied for the A-10 lead in goals with nine, assists with seven and points with 25. Freshman Oni Bernard, the reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week, is third on the team with five goals. Sophomore Sam Huecker and freshman Jonna Handra, a two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week selection, are tied for fourth on the team with four goals apiece.
The 49ers hold a 2-0-0 series advantage over both Temple and Saint Joseph's.
Admission to the Charlotte-Temple women's soccer game is $5 for adults. While, all youth (17-and-under) as well as Charlotte 49ers students are admitted free. Admission to the Charlotte-Saint Joseph's women's soccer game is $5 for adults and $2 for youth (17-and-under). While Charlotte 49ers students are admitted free.
