Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte 49ers (16-2-2), who have the captured the last two Atlantic 10 Tournament titles, will play Dayton (15-0-5) for the A-10 Women's Soccer Conference Tournament Championship and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at Charlotte's Transamerica Field, Sunday, November 8 at 1 pm. For the second consecutive year, the 49ers and Dayton will square off the A-10 Championship. The 49ers defeated Dayton, 1-0, to capture last season's A-10 Tournament title. Charlotte is attempting to join Massachusetts (1993-95) as the only other program in A-10 history to capture three straight A-10 titles.

The 49ers reached the championship game after a 2-1 win over Fordham in the A-10 Tournament semifinals, Friday. Sam Huecker and India Winford scored the 49ers two goals. Dayton defeated Saint Louis, 5-1, in the other A-10 Tournament semifinal game.

This game will mark the second meeting this season between the two teams. Charlotte and Dayton played to a 0-0 double overtime tie at Dayton in their regular-season meeting, October 9. The 49ers lead the all-time series against Dayton, 5-0-1. Charlotte defeated Dayton, 2-1, in their last meeting at Transamerica Field, October 24, 2008.

Charlotte enters the A-10 Championship game with a 14-game unbeaten streak which is one of the longest in the nation. During that stretch, the 49ers have outscored their opponents, 42-7.

Charlotte is attempting to win the fifth conference tournament title in the program's history this Sunday. The 49ers defeated Evansville, 1-0, to win the 1995 Conference USA Title. Then, Charlotte captured the 1998 Conference USA Title on penalty kicks against Marquette. Charlotte defeated Fordham, 3-2, to capture the 2007 A-10 Tournament title. Then, the 49ers defeated Dayton, 1-0, to capture the 2008 A-10 Tournament title.
