Charlotte, N.C. - Due to weather conditions, the Charlotte 49ers doubleheader against conference foe St. Bonaventure originally scheduled for Saturday has been postponed until Sunday at noon at the D.L. Phillips Softball Complex.
The 49ers, who are currently ranked second in the league in overall winning percentage, own a 4-1 record all-time against the Bonnies. In their doubleheader match-up last season, then-senior pitcher Kristen Bowen tossed a one-hit shutout in game one while junior shortstop Cee Brooks drove in five runs in game two for the 49ers to sweep 5-0 and 6-3.
This season, Charlotte is led offensively by sophomore outfielder Serena Smith with 25 RBIs and 44 hits, ranking her third and first in the Atlantic 10, respectively, and on the mound by freshman Hackett, who ranks second in the league in strikeouts (97).
