Charlotte, N.C. - Two weekends down, one more to go, as the Charlotte 49er Softball team prepares to wrap up the short fall ball season this weekend by hosting their final tournament of the short season at D.L. Phillips Field on Saturday and Sunday.
To date, the Niners have gone 3-1 with wins over Queens, St. Andrews Presbyterian and Appalachian State, with their only loss coming in the first half of last weekend's doubledip with the Mountaineers in Taylorsville.
Charlotte has seen an offensive onslaught of 31 runs over their four contests thus far, while they've only allowed seven runs.
This weekend, the 49ers will see their stiffest competition of the fall with UNC-Greensboro, Campbell and North Carolina coming to town. Action starts this weekend on Saturday afternoon when the Niner do battle with Campbell at 2:00 p.m. and then take on UNC-Greensboro at 4:00 p.m. Charlotte will then again do battle with UNC-Greensboro on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. before wrapping up the tournament by taking on the Tarheels at 3:00 p.m.
