Charlotte, N.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team took to the courts in the College of Charleston Invitational over the weekend.

Senior Kimber Redfern found success on the consolation side of the A-1 bracket, defeating Coastal Carolina's Caitlyn Brookshank in straight sets and North Florida's Aline Berkenbrook in a third-set tiebreak.

In doubles play, Redfern and fellow senior Candace Cunningham took out Samantha Galginena and Romina Clemente in a 9-8 grinder, which needed a 10-5 tiebreak.

The Niners will next compete in the Davidson Invitational on October 16-17.
