Assistant Coach

Graduate Assistant Michael Swann enters his second season with the NCCU baseball program.

His primary role includes developing catchers and providing assistance for the outfielders. In addition to providing athletic development for the student-athletes, he is also responsible for the fall practice schedule and all off-season workout programs. Swann also contributes significantly to the NCCU baseball team through coaching third base.

A native of Mebane, North Carolina, Swann was a two-sport athlete at Eastern Alamance High School. After graduating high school, he signed to play baseball at Saint Augustine's College under current NCCU head coach Dr. Henry White.

Through hard work and dedication as a student-athlete at Saint Augustine's, Swann was a member of two conference runner-up teams in 2001 and 2003. He was also selected to the All-Rookie Team in 2001 and was an All-CIAA catcher in 2001, 2002, and 2003. In 2003, he led the team with a batting average of .389 and was unanimously voted team MVP.

He graduated from Saint Augustine's College in 2003 with a degree in Business Administration and will graduate from North Carolina Central University in December 2008 with a Master's degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration.
