DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University baseball team welcomes Alderson-Broaddus College to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sunday (March 2) for the Eagles' first home game of the 2008 season.

NCCU Chancellor Charlie Nelms will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at 2 p.m.

Alderson-Broaddus, located in Philippi, W.Va., enters the contest with a 3-1 record after finishing last season 27-10 overall.

NCCU, playing in only its second season on the diamond since 1975, enters Sunday's match-up with a 0-2 record after dropping a doubleheader at Savannah State on Feb. 24. The Eagles won 21 games and captured the CIAA regular season title last year, while also leading the NCAA Division II ranks in stolen bases.

Following Sunday's single game with the Battlers, NCCU returns to the DBAP to host Saint Paul's College on Monday (March 3) for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
