NCCU collected three wins in the two day event in the Bowie State Invitational. NCCU finished with a total pinfall of 7,827. On the first day of the event the Lady Eagles played Baker games and posted two wins on the day over Coppin State and Cheney State. However, NCCU fell to Kutztown, Norfolk State, Sacred Heart and New Jersey City. On the day two NCCU defeated Adelphi University to finish the day with a 1-4 mark. NCCU's LaTia Blacknell led the Lady Eagles with 1,169 pins (194 avg.), followed by Elizabeth Schuster(1,017), Jebria Buntyn(906), Ashley Lofton (788) and Michelle Salas (763). Farleigh Dickinson University rolled up a 10,517 total pin count over the weekend and took home the 2008 Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs Bowling Classic crown. New Jersey City University finished second overall (10,169) in the twenty team field followed by the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (10,028), Sacred Heart University (10,014) and Adelphi University rounded out the top five with 9,325 total pins. |
