GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado head women's basketball coach Jaime White today announced the signing of Brittany Fernandez to the signing of a National Letter of Intent. Fernandez will enroll in the fall, 2008 semester.

Fernandez, a 6-0 center from Kansas City, will join the Bears from Butler County Community College where she led the conference in blocked shots as a sophomore. A 2006 graduate of Washington High School, Fernandez was a two-time all-conference selection, earning three letters in basketball and four in track & field for the Wildcats.

"Brittany will bring a physical inside presence next season," said White. "We look forward to her playing a major role at the center position."

Fernandez joins Kaisha Brown, Courtney Kranz, Cassie Lambrecht, Lauren Oosdyke and Victoria Timm, who all signed with the Bears earlier in the year.
