Krista Van Hauen, the Director of Basketball Operations at Bradley University, has been selected as the assistant women's basketball coach for Northern Colorado announced head coach Jaime White. Van Hauen is replacing Dayna Finch Weltmer, who took up an assistant coach position at her alma mater Creighton.

"This is a great opportunity," said Van Hauen, "UNC is doing the right things and is a program headed in the right direction."

Van Hauen has a long history with the women's basketball that includes holding an assistant coaching position at Cornell College and serving as a student assistant coach and at her alma mater Waldorf College.

"Her experience at Bradley will be very beneficial to her role here," said White, "She is coming in with a lot of experience in the Midwest, which will be her recruiting focus."

At Waldorf, Van Hauen played for three seasons and served as co-captain of the women's basketball team for two. There she led the Warriors to a third place finish at the NJCAA National Championship in 2001.

While playing for Waldorf, Van Hauen received many awards and honors, such as being named First Team NJCAA All-American and Distinguished Academic All-American in the 2000-01 season. She also played for the women's golf team at Waldorf earning Academic All-American honors in 2003.

Van Hauen has already begun her duties at Northern Colorado.
