OGDEN, Utah - In a vote by the Big Sky Conference head women's golf coaches, the University of Northern Colorado team was picked to finish third in its first season of eligibility.
Eastern Washington snagged eight of the nine first-place votes for 64 points, while Northern Arizona earned the final nod and 54 points for second place and the Bears were third with 51 points. Sacramento State, Portland State, Weber State, Montana, Montana State and Idaho State rounded out the poll.
The Bears fall season was highlighted by a team championship at the Kenneth Smith Golf Classic hosted by UMKC. Senior golfer Jenny Henderson won the individual title at the tournament and had two other top 15 finishes during the fall campaign.
The spring season gets underway for the Bears on March 1 at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz.
