BOULDER, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado women's tennis team was swept on Wednesday evening by the University of Colorado to fall to 0-2 on the young season. The Buffaloes improve to 1-3 with the victory.

Tabatha Knop and Manuela Santos battled at the No. 1 doubles position, but eventually fell 8-6, while Jodi Ciarvella and Tiffany Knop fell 8-2 at the second position and Karen Groll and Hannah LaForest dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 3 doubles.

In singles action, Tabatha Knop battled to a 7-5 decision in the first set, but dropped 6-0 in the second set to Monica Milewski who was ranked 31^st in the preseason college ITA rankings. Santos fell in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4 at the number two spot to Camila Belassi, while Tiffany Knop lost 6-3, 6-1 at number three to Melisa Esposito.

At the fourth singles, Karen Groll fell 6-0, 6-1 to Gleisy Torres Torres, while Jodi Ciarvella lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 and Luiza Xavier lost a pair of 6-1 sets to Veera Nurmi at number six.

Northern Colorado travels to Bozeman, Mont., to take on Sam Houston State on Friday at Montana State on Saturday before playing Montana in Missoula on Sunday.
