Women's Tennis Sweeps South Dakota State :: Bears Win Second Match By 7-0 Score

GREELEY, Colo. -- The University of Northern Colorado women's tennis team swept South Dakota State in the second home match of the season, defeating the Jackrabbits 7-0 at WorkOut West in Greeley Thursday evening. The Bears improve to 2-4 on the year.

The Bears won four of the six singles matches with perfect 6-0, 6-0 scores. Tabatha Knop, Manuela Santos and Tiffany Knop swept the top three spots, while Jodi Ciarvella swept at the number five position. Karen Groll was victorious 6-4, 6-3 at number four, while both Luiza Xavier and Kara Killenberg won 6-1, 6-0 at spots six and seven, respectively.

In doubles action, the Bears won the point convincingly with Tabatha Knop and Santos winning 8-2 at the top spot, Tiffany Knop and Ciarvella winning 8-1 at number two and Hannah LaForest and Groll winning 8-4 at number three.

The Bears contine the home stand tomorrow afternoon at 2:30, hosting Arkansas State. The men play prior to the women, hosting the Jackrabbits at 9:00 a.m.
