Getting win No. 3
The Northern Colorado women's tennis team defeated UTEP on Sunday, March 2, for its third match win of the season. The Bears came up short in two of their three doubles matches against the Miners, but they won four of six singles matches to pull out the victory at Work Out West in Greeley, Colo. Tabatha Knop (No. 1 singles) and her sister, Tiffany Knop (No. 2) each won against the Miners, as did Manuela Santos (No. 3) and Jodi Ciarvella (No. 6). Santos and Tabitha Knop earned the Bears' only doubles victory.

It's all about positioning
Tabatha Knop has played every match this year as the Bears' No. 1 singles player. She's the only Northern Colorado player to compete in the same slot for all the Bears' events. Tiffany Knop has played two positions this year (No. 2 and 3) as has Manuela Santos (No. 2 and 3), Karen Groll (No. 4 and 5) and Luiza Xavier (No. 5 and 6). Jodi Ciarvella has played three positions (No. 4, 5 and 6).

This double has had no trouble
Tabatha Knop and Manuela Santos have been Northern Colorado's top doubles team this year. The duo has compiled a 7-3 record in doubles play this year, and has won six matches in a row. Their last defeat in an 8-6 decision in the Bears' match with Sam Houston State on Feb. 9.

A little top heavy
When it comes to singles victories, Northern Colorado has found some success at the top of its ladder, while struggling through its last four slots. The Bears are 11-9 this season in No. 1- or No. 2-singles matches, but just 13-26 in No.4-6 singles matches.
