THIBODAUX, La. - Still looking to pick up its first win of the 2008 campaign, the Nicholls Colonels baseball squad will host the Murray State 'Breds in a three-game weekend series at Ray E. Didier Field.

Nicholls has been led at the plate by infielder Brett Hoeflich who, through five games, is hitting 389 with four doubles.

Shortstop Keith Kulbeth, Nicholls' most reliable hitter, has fashioned a four-game hitting streak as of late, hitting .368 with six RBI.

The Colonels are looking to rebound from a 20-1 midweek loss to the New Orleans Privateers Wednesday night. Nicholls gave up 22 hits and committed four errors in the game, while getting just four baserunners themselves.

Friday night, the Colonels will send freshman Seth Webster to the mound. Webster has a 2.70 ERA with one strike out in a 3.1 inning appearance vs. Louisiana-Monroe (2/23). Nicholls will look to veterans Ryan Harding and Lance Dupuis on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Dupuis leads the Colonels with 5.0 innings pitched, 5 strike outs and a 0.00 ERA.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday night, while Saturday's game will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday's rubber match is slated for 1 p.m.
