THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls and Northwestern State will take to the hardwood on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Stopher Gym as the Colonels look to avenge their 70-67 loss to the Demons in Natchitoches, La. earlier this season.

The Colonels (7-20, 2-10) are coming off a pair of 54-52 losses with the most recent to in-state and conference rival Southeastern La. this past Saturday. Nicholls had four players in double-figures in the defeat, and fought back from a 33-16 halftime deficit to out score the Lions 36-to-21 in the second half.

True freshman Anatoly Bose led the Colonels in scoring with 13 points and has been in double-digits in 14 games this season. Bose also currently leads the league in free throw percentage with a .864 mark from the stripe.

The Demons (12-15, 8-5) suffered a 103-95 loss to league-leading Lamar last time out on the court. In that game, Colby Bargeman had a game best 30 points. Lamar's Trey Gilder leads the team in scoring with a 16.8 average and in rebounds with 6.3 per game.

Northwestern State holds the 56-34 advantage in the series, and has won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the two schools. Nicholls' last win against the Northwestern State came last season in Prather Coliseum when the Colonels knocked off the Demons, 93-92, in a nail biter.

After this contest, Nicholls will venture off to Central Arkansas this Saturday and Lamar next Thursday before playing their 2007-08 regular season finale in Stopher Gym against McNeese State.
