COLONELS PREP FOR TOMORROW'S SCRIMMAGE

THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels did their drills today in helmets, jerseys and practice shorts as the team prepared for their scrimmage tomorrow.

Today's practice went a total of 16 periods of five minutes each. The offense, defense and special teams went over a basic review of all they went over in spring practice so far.

"We had a good walk thorough today, and I look forward to having a good scrimmage," said head coach Jay Thomas.

The Colonels practice tomorrow will start at 9 a.m. on the grass practice fields adjacent to the Ray E. Didier Field.

The annual spring game is set for Thursday April 24 at 7 p.m. in John L. Guidry Stadium. Nicholls athletic department will host Colonel Fest on Saturday April 19 in conjunction with baseball's home contest against in-state rival Northwestern State.

The official start time of Colonel Fest is set for Noon with the event lasting till roughly 4:30 p.m. The festival will feature a band and a cooking contest. The cooking contest will have a jambalaya division and a miscellaneous bracket. Anyone wishing to enter a team in the cook off should contact Norby Chabert at 985-493-2516.

Tickets for Colonel Fest are $10.00 and the ticket will allow for admission to football practice that day and admittance to the baseball game. All children under 13 get in free.

The remaining spring practice schedule is below. All practices are open to the public unless requested otherwise by the football coaching staff.
