COLONELFEST ATTRACTS MANY FOR SCRIMMAGE

April 19, 2008

THIBODAUX, La. - The Colonels held an intra-squad scrimmage today in front of an audience in John L. Guidry Stadium in conjunction with ColonelFest as fans got a sneak peak at the 2008 Colonels.

Before the scrimmage, the Colonels focused first four periods on special teams while doing two periods of seven-on-seven passing drills. Nicholls then scrimmaged with the offense and defense working on game type situations in front of fans.

"It was good to see so many people out there watching our guys practice today," said head coach Jay Thomas.

"I know the guys were psyched about having the opportunity to practice in front of their family and friends."

ColonelFest then followed with the cooking contest and live band. Numerous Colonel faithful came out and showed their support. The football players took some time after practice to go visit with fans and sign autographs for anyone who wanted one.

The annual spring game is set for Thursday April 24 at 7 p.m. in John L. Guidry Stadium. Admission is free to the spring game.

The remaining spring practice schedule is below. All practices are open to the public unless requested otherwise by the football coaching staff.

Monday April 21 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Tuesday April 22 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
