THIBODAUX, La. - After a 20-period practice yesterday afternoon in John L. Guidry Stadium, the Colonels went back to Manning Field Built by AstroTurf today for another 20-period session.

The No. 18 Colonels worked on installing their game plan against Central Arkansas yesterday and continued to do so today. The Colonels worked on their spread offense today while the defense worked on goal line situations. A majority of the practice was spent on special teams, especially on punt and kickoff return.

Nicholls (5-2, 2-1) lost last week to No. 5 McNeese State 28-7 in John L. Guidry Stadium, and are now slated to take on the red hot Bears who have won three consecutive conference games. Central Arkansas (4-3, 3-1) came from behind last week to defeat Southeastern La. 37-33 in Hammond, La.

Central Arkansas currently boasts the conference's best statistically rated passing offense by throwing for 304.0 a game while Nicholls heads into the contest with the Southland's top rated pass defense by only giving up 165.3 yards a game.

Bears quarterback Nathan Brown is the conference's only passer to throw for over 2,000 yards and has thrown a league leading 19 touchdown passes. The Colonels counter with junior safety Ladarius Webb who leads the league in interceptions with five, in interception returns for touchdowns with three, and in interception return yards with 148.

Kickoff for the Bears' homecoming game against Nicholls is set for 6 p.m. in Estes Stadium.
