SPRINGFIELD, LA. - The Nicholls men's golf team fired a final-round 328 on Tuesday to finish in 15th place at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate held at the 7,049 yard, par 72 Carter Plantation Golf Course. The Colonels finished the two-day 54-hole event with a 964 team score. On the final day of action, sophomore Ebenhaezer Van der Walt and senior James Terrebonne led Nicolls, after each carded an 81. Van der Walt finished the tournament with a 237 and tied for 39th place, while Terrebonne finished tied for 60th place by finishing with a 242. Senior Marty Reed finished the tournament in 69th, shooting a 246 and freshman Jacob Lejeune finished one shot back in 70th place with a 247. Rounding out the scoring for Nicholls was freshman Parham Booker, who carded a 249 to finish in a tie for 72nd place. Middle Tennessee State carded a 295 in the final round as they ran away with the team title by 26 strokes. Middle Tennessee State's Rick Cochran finished with a 215, including a 2-under 70 on Tuesday, to claim the individual crown by three strokes. Nicholls will conclude its season in two weeks when it travels to Lake Charles, La., to compete in the Southland Conference Championship held at Gray Plantation on April 12.
