Jan. 24, 2008

THIBODAUX, La. - Thursday night, facing a tough Texas-Arlington squad, senior Katherine Plummer poured in her 1000th career point on a lay-up at the 15:16 mark of the second half. She finished the contest with 21 points, and, two days later, netted 20 versus Texas State - her fourth and fifth 20+ point games of the season.

Heading into Saturday afternoon's match-up with Southeastern Louisiana, the 5-4 guard sits at ninth in career points in the Nicholls record book with 1,023 (11.7 ppg).

But Plummer can do more than drive to the basket or sink a 15-footer. At the moment, she holds ninth place in the Lady Colonel record book with 233 career assists (2.6 apg) over her four-year career. Adding to her accomplishments, the Brooklyn, N.Y. native sits at third all-time with 203 career steals - just five away from second place.

This season, Plummer is laying in a team-leading 16.8 points per game and is third on the squad with 4.7 rebounds per outing.

Junior Christie Bryant is leading Nicholls on the boards, pulling down 5.2 rebounds and adding 6.7 points per game. Freshman Shelley West enters Saturday's contest with 9.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per outing, both second on the squad.

The Lady Lions (7-10, 1-3) are led by junior Kristy Carlin's 12.9 points per contest, while her 5.6 rebounds per outing are good enough for second on the team. Sophomore Zevy Ivory leads Southeastern Louisiana on the glass with 6.5 rebounds per game and is shooting a team-leading 56.5% from the floor.

The Lady Colonels (3-12, 1-3) will tip-off with Southeastern Louisiana Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Stopher Gym.
