PLUMMER EARNS NATIONAL HONOR



Plummer averaged 23.3 points per game for the Lady Colonels in the month of January.

ATLANTA, Ga. - Lady Colonel senior guard Katherine Plummer received Honorable Mention accolades for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association January Player of the Month.

Plummer, the only Southland Conference player to earn the honor, averaged 23.3 points per game through the month of January, leading the Lady Colonels to a 3-4 overall record (3-3 Southland).

The 5-4 point guard recorded five-straight 20+ point games, including two 30-point games. She also tallied her first double-double of the season, pouring in 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a win over Northwestern State on Jan. 31.

Through January, Plummer shot 48.1% from the floor and 80.0% from the free-throw line. She averaged 6.4 rebounds per outing, grabbed a total of 20 steals and dished out a total of 18 assists.

In Jan. 26's win over Southeastern Louisiana, Plummer sank a perfect 13-of-13 from the charity stripe, adding 16 more free throws in the win over Northwestern.

The Lady Colonels travel to Beaumont, Texas Thursday evening to face Lamar in a 7 p.m. tip-off.
