BEAUMONT, Texas - After shooting an 80 during the opening round of the 2008 Southland Conference Women's Golf Championship, freshman Elyse Kinley fired a four-over par 75 during the second round. Kinley enters the final round tied for 18th place with a 155, just three shots back of claiming a top 10 finish.

Other Lady Colonel golfers included junior Theunette Van der Walt (34th - 77-85=162), senior Natalie Robinson (36th - 80-86=166), senior Daniele Dunlop (37th - 77-90=167) and sophomore Emiley Patton (38th - 82-86=168).

Texas State shot a second-straight 300 today, as it kept its lead following day two action at the Southland Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par 71, 6,069 yard Beaumont Country Club.

Texas State's Linn Gustafsson maintained her the individual lead, shooting a one over round of 72, which could've been much better. Gustafsson had her round to three under par early in the back nine, but two double bogeys, including one at 18, as she played a ball in the water hazard, taking her shoes off to get into the water. Sehee Kim shot 73 today for the Bobcats and is tied for second individually at 143.

Lamar, the tournament host, shot a day best total of 299 today for a 604 two-day total, four shots off Texas State's pace of 600, while defending champion Sam Houston State sits in third just eight shots back.
